President Trump is punching back at North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-un by epically mocking him on Twitter.
“Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me ‘old,’ when I would NEVER call him ‘short and fat?'” joked the President.
Trump added, mockingly, “Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend – and maybe someday that will happen!”
Trump’s comments come after the North Korean Foreign Ministry called Trump an “old lunatic” who was making “reckless remarks.”
President Trump is currently wrapping up a 10-day tour of Asia, which has helped bring U.S.-North Korean tensions to the forefront.
Most notably, Trump took a hard line during a speech delivered to South Korea’s National Assembly.
“Do not underestimate us,” Trump warned North Korea, in the speech last Tuesday. “And do not try us.” He added, “The [nuclear] weapons you’re acquiring are not making you safer, they are putting your regime in grave danger. Every step you take down this dark path increases the peril you face.”
