Some people remove themselves from the gene pool in such ridiculous ways that you could argue their inability to procreate is a benefit to humankind. David Zaback, a would-be robber and Darwin Award winner, died in 1990 after trying to steal from H&L Leather & Firearms Ltd.
To walk in, Zaback had to sidestep a marked police cruiser. Inside a police officer was having coffee with the store owner. Both men were armed, as were several customers.
Zaback revealed his intentions and fired a few random shots before the cop, owner, and multiple customers promptly returned fire. There were no other deaths or injuries.
