As soon as David Kelley begin firing indiscriminately at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, word of the unfolding massacre spread through the quiet town like wildfire. Former NRA instructor and local plumber, Stephen Willeford, rushed barefoot to the scene with his AR-15 (RELATED: Good Samaritan With AR-15 Took Down Texas Church Gunman). Willeford wounded Kelley who retreated to his vehicle and sped away. Willeford subsequently flagged down a passerby, Johnnie Langendorff and both men pursued Kelley until the gunman drove into a ditch 11 miles down the road. There, they found his lifeless body slumped over the steering wheel.
