In a dramatic announcement, akin to J. Edgar Hoover’s press conferences condemning legendary outlaws like John Dillinger and Machine Gun Kelly, Attorney General Jeff Session declared war, on behalf of the Trump administration, against the vicious street gang, MS-13.
Also known as La Mara Salvatrucha, MS-13 formed after an influx of Salvadoran refugees arrived in the United States in the 1980s to escape Central America’s Civil War epidemic. The gang’s original purpose was “providing protection” for Central American immigrants from other criminals.
In the past, many members were deported, instead of being incarcerated for their crimes. This flawed policy enabled them to recruit members in their home countries before returning – illegally – to America. To facilitate these efforts, members have long targeted Border Patrol agents and Minutemen volunteers.
Today, officials regard MS-13 as the most dangerous criminal organization in the country. According to multiple sources, there may be 2,000 members in the Washington, D.C. area alone. Police in affluent Fairfax County, Virginia recently arrested several of their gangbangers for the brutal slaying of a teenage girl (RELATED: CHILLING: Latin Gang Carries Out Horrific Execution On US Soil). They also have a strong presence in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Charlotte, the New York metropolitan area, and Boston.
However, that is poised to change dramatically, as Sessions has designated the gang a top priority for the Justice Department. MS-13 drew the attention of administration officials recently as well with the shocking murders of two young girls in New York. The gang is now firmly in the crosshairs of the Trump White House.
