Violent anti-police riots in St. Louis, Missouri, were organized by an official branch of the Democratic Party, according to Twitter.
On Sunday, the St. Louis Young Democrats—a group affiliated with the national Democratic Party—tweeted an invitation to a new “rally” they had organized in response to the acquittal of a white police officer in the death of a black heroin dealer:
“The next protest in response to the #STLVerdict is scheduled to begin at 7:00 am at 16th & Market #blacklivesmatter,” tweeted the St. Louis Young Democrats.
The “protests” organized by the Young Democrats quickly turned violent—with eleven cops injured and dozens of small businesses vandalized. Police officers also confiscated “bottles with unknown chemicals” that had been used by rioters against cops.
Left-wing violence has continued to crop up nationwide since President Donald Trump’s surprise victory last November—but this is among the first times an official branch of the Democratic Party has been caught organizing it.
