San Francisco police and paramedics are at the scene of a shooting at the United Parcel Service facility near 16th and Potrero streets, on the eastern edge of the Mission District.
Officer Tracy Green of the SFPD’s Bayview Station said just after 9 a.m. that an active shooter was “down” at the scene and that officers were sweeping the building, the main UPS shipping facility in the city.
Green said the shooter was found with a self-inflicted wound. He said there were a total of three shooting victims in the building, but it was not clear whether that total included the shooter.
There was no immediate information on the conditions of those who had been shot. Reporters at the scene, including KQED’s John Sepulvado, reported seeing what appeared to be two bodies beneath yellow tarps near the building’s southeast corner at 17th Street and San Bruno Avenue.
