Ohio Gov. John Kasich would not discount a potential another Republican primary challenge against President Trump in 2020 when asked about it Friday.
The topic came up during an interview on HBO’s “Real Time,” hosted by liberal political comedian Bill Maher.
Though Maher told Kasich that in 2016 Trump “kicked your ass,” he asked Kasich to look two years down the road.
“I can see a scenario where he’s in a lot of trouble, because he’s an idiot,” Maher said. “There could be a foreign affair disaster. He doesn’t know anything about that. Russia could explode in his face. People could be dying from his healthcare. I could see a challenge in the Republican Party for 2020. Would you be up for that?”
