Former Vice President Joe Biden was crushed after former President Barack Obama overlooked him to run as the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate in what was described as a “silent rebuke” in a book released Tuesday.
Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes detailed the ins and outs of Clinton’s 2016 failed presidential run.But the book also revealed details about Biden’s suspected run.
At the time, Joe was solely focused on his son Beau’s political career before he got sick and passed away in May of 2015.
“The elder Biden didn’t want to interfere with his son’s political ascent and worried that his own presidential bid would make it harder for Beau to win statewide office in Delaware [they would have been on the ballot at the same time if Joe ran for president and Beau ran for governor in 2016],” the book revealed.
