Republican nominee Donald Trump ties with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in a stunning turnaround within the state of New Hampshire, according to a WBUR-FM poll published Thursday.
Trump leads by a single point, earning 40 percent compared to Clinton’s 39 percent. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson earned 10 percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein earned 3 percent in the latest polling. Seven percent remain undecided in the poll, indicating greater room for improvement for either major party candidate.
New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte held a 6-point lead over Governor Maggie Hassan, earning 51 percent compared to Hassan’s 45 percent. Republicans also did well in the race for governor. Chris Sununu earned 49 percent of the vote, compared to Democratic challenger Colin Van Ostern’s 44 percent.
The WBUR poll is the first live-interview poll Trump won in the state of New Hampshire, according to Politico.
