Donald Trump has decided to weigh in on the Fox News sex scandal. Here’s what the GOP frontrunner had to say:
A few months ago, Fox News CEO and Chairman Roger Ailes and Donald Trump were exchanging tense statements over anchor Megyn Kelly and whether Trump would participate in a Fox News debate.
Now Trump is coming to the defense of Ailes as the executive faces a lawsuit and accusations of sexual harassment by former anchor Gretchen Carlson.
“I think they are unfounded just based on what I’ve read,” Trump told the Washington Examiner. “Totally unfounded, based on what I read.”
It’s a much different tone than Trump has expressed before. Back when Trump was bashing Kelly over her tough line of questioning at the first Republican debate and was protesting her presence at a January debate, Fox released a statement mocking Trump.
This is fascinating. It appears that Trump and Ailes have mended their relationship after a tumultuous couple of months.
