Even though he said just one month ago that he had completely ruled out running for reelection in the Senate, it looks like Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has had a change of heart.
Per The Washington Post, Rubio on Wednesday announced that he will officially seek reelection for his Senate seat, which Republicans had feared would certainly fall into Democratic hands unless Rubio got in the race. The announcement comes after Rep. David Jolly (R-Fla.) told CNN on last week that Rubio would be getting back in the race.
Rubio’s likely opponent in the race will be Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Fla.), who has consistently lead fellow Rep. Alan Grayson in polls for the Florida Democratic Senate primary.
