As a media personality and celebrity, Donald Trump has been mixing and mingling with the Hollywood crowd for decades. And not just the Celebrity Apprentice set, either. So it should not come as a surprise when celebrities have tales to tell about The Donald, as Charlie Sheen did over the weekend when he appeared on England’s The Graham Norton Show.
Prodded to tell his Trump story, Sheen said that five years ago, he was at dinner with his now-ex-wife Brooke when Trump came up to him and congratulated him on what were then his upcoming nuptials. After expressing regret that he wouldn’t be able to make it to Sheen’s wedding (he wasn’t invited), Trump gave Sheen a gift: the cuff links he was wearing. “These are platinum-diamond Harry Winston,” Sheen quotes Trump as saying. But it doesn’t end there.
Yes, years later, Sheen says he had the cuff links appraised, and they were found to be “cheap pewter and bad zirconias.”
