Larry the Cable Guy is known for his run as part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour who’s released seven gold comedy albums. More recently, the burly comedian has shot ads for Prilosec OTC, the heartburn medication.
This week, he joined Fox Business host Jim Varney to talk about about the generous charity measure he’s backing for the Super Bowl. As the Free Beacon notes:
In preparation for Super Bowl 50, Fox Business Network’s Stuart Varney hosted Larry the Cable Guy Friday who seemed to primarily be there to promote Prilosec OTC, for which he does frequent commercials. The always casual comedian, who joked with Varney throughout the interview, also talked about a charitable donation that he had just traveled for.
“Let me tell you why I’m out here though. This is a really good deal. You know the Super Bowl is the best time for home-gatin’ and so that’s why I’m out here. I’m with Nick Mangold of the New York Jets, me and Prilosec OTC, we have teamed up with the Taste of the NFL,” Larry said, “And so instead of just fighting heartburn, we’re fighting hunger this year and so we have, we’re out here to present a check for $125,000 to the Taste of the NFL and that will cover 1 million meals for the people in need, so we’re excited to be able to be out here and do that.”
The comedian concluded the segment by telling Varney that he was going to give him a Vermont Teddy Bear and Chipotle gift cards for Valentine’s Day.
Super Bowl Sunday is a great time in America where families and friends get together and feast and watch football. It’s nice to see that someone is helping those who can’t afford that luxury.
