Rand Paul has been frozen out of the GOP debate, as some would suggest unfairly. There’s some truth to that, but it’s also true that Paul’s campaign has been largely uninspiring, due in large part to his attempt to mediate his libertarian positions and appeal to a broader base.
In the last month, Paul has realized the folly of his ways, and he’s pivoted back to his libertarian roots. Last night, he went on the Daily Show with host Trevor Noah, and he showcased the Rand Paul America used to know, navigating a slew of questions from liberal host Trevor Noah that GOP candidates typically hem and haw over and making an elegant case for liberty and a sober foreign policy.
It might be too little too late for the Paul, but it’s worth a watch.
