Ted Cruz released his birth certificate to Breitbart today, ending speculation that he was not a “natural born” American citizen:
Eleanor Darragh, mother of Sen. Ted Cruz, was born in Delaware on Nov. 23, 1934, establishing her citizenship by birth–and, according to U.S. law, that of her son, even though he was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Dec. 22, 1970.
The Cruz campaign is likely hoping that this will end any speculation and allow him to continue his campaign without interruption. The Senator from Texas is locked in a close race for frontrunner status with Donald Trump, and is leading in Iowa.
