President Barack Obama may go down as the most incompetent commander in chief in American history, and it seems like those closest to him are now distancing themselves. Just this week, Obama’s Secretary of Defense defied his assessment of ISIS:
Defense Secretary Ash Carter says ISIS is not contained.
In testimony before the Senate on Wednesday, Sen. John McCain asked Carter to comment on Gen. Joseph Dunford’s House Armed Services testimony, when he said, “We have not contained ISIL.”
Dunford is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
John McCain: Mr. Secretary, on the first of December, before the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Forbes asked General Dunford, “Have we currently contained ISIL?” General Dunford: “We have not contained ISIL.” Mr. Secretary, do you agree with General Dunford?
Ash Carter: I agree with General Dunford, yes.
Either Carter is hoping everyone forgets Obama’s embarrassing assessment, or he’s looking to jump ship.
