Time chose Angela Merkel as Person of the Year. Joe Scarborough thinks that’s a tremendous, intentional mistake. As the Daily Caller notes:
The “Morning Joe” panel ripped into Time magazine for selecting German Chancellor Angela Merkel instead of Donald Trump as its “Person of the Year,” insisting the magazine was “petrified to speak the truth.”
Thursday on the MSNBC morning show, both hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough explained that Time was too “scared” to select Trump. (RELATED: Trump Not Happy About Time’s ‘Person Of The Year’ Choice)
“They were scared,” Scarborough said. “They were petrified to actually speak the truth. Which is somebody that they loathe, somebody they have contempt for, somebody that they don’t understand … but Donald Trump has shaped American politics, the American debate, American culture, moreso than any single figure since Barack Obama in 2008. There is no parallel.”
Scarborough’s sentiments were echoed by Bill O’Reilly, and should reverberate across conservative media. The Trump phenomenon is something America has never seen before. That Time chose to pick someone else is absurd.
