Donald Trump gave a speech at a rally in Virginia on Wednesday, taking some time during his speech to tell it like it is about the Democratic field:
“Last night, with Bernie Sanders, and Hillary, and the other three guys…that nobody even knows who the hell they are. Who are they? But I watched, last night as Hillary and Bernie Sanders, they just couldn’t give away things fast enough.
Trump set his sights on Sanders in particular:, who he called a maniac:
“I watched Hillary last night, ‘we’re gonna give this, we’re gonna give that, we’re going to give that,’” he said. “The poor woman, she’s gotta give everything away because this maniac that was standing on her right was giving everything away, so she’s following! That’s what’s happening.”
“This socialist-slash-communist, okay? Nobody wants to say it,” Trump said to wild applause.
“He’s gonna tax you people at 90 percent; he’s gonna take everything!” he continued. “And nobody’s heard the term ‘communist.’ I call him a socialist-slash-communist because that’s what he is.”
Trump noted that Hillary has to mimic Bernie in part because she’s doing so poorly in the polls, noting that in some polls he leads her by five percent. The Democratic frontrunner is currently losing to Sanders in two primaries, and is in danger of losing key union endorsements to Trump.
