The FBI spent decades collecting information and compiling blackmail on public figures, celebrities, artists, actors, and comedians for a project referred to as the FBI’s Obscene File. While little harassment came from this file, the fact that such a vast amount of sensitive data on American citizens was collected is a terrifying thought in it of itself.
