Need further proof today’s farce was a disgrace? The expert witnesses ranged from leftists Noah Feldman and Pamela Karlan to the liberal-leaning, albeit principled Jonathan Turley (who was called on by Republicans).
Today’s hearing served one purpose: to attempt to shift public opinion on the implacable issue of impeachment.
For his part, Turley’s opening statement excoriated House Democrats over their purported case with the “thinnest evidentiary record” and “the narrowest grounds ever used to impeach a president.”
Turley’s constitutional lesson came in stark contrast to Feldman and Karlan’s low blows that obliterated what should be a quasi-objective inquiry.
