Mindhunter focuses on the professional and personal struggles of two FBI agents who create the Behavioral Sciences Unit to study violent criminals, specifically serial killers, in response to the skyrocketing crime rates of the 1970s.
The series doesn’t mythologize serial killers like some true crime shows do but rather exposes them as the evil, depraved, and broken monsters they are. All the while, the characters you come to care for search – with increasing urgency – to stop the demons they haven’t caught yet.
Created by suspense master David Fincher, both seasons of Mindhunter are streaming on Netflix.
