Alexis de Tocqueville was the author of Democracy in America, the book was actually released in France originally and was an analysis of America’s representative Democracy and how it so successfully separated from Europe’s monarchies. The book offers a lot of praise for the nation that at the time of the book being written was brand new. A great book with an honest look at America from a foreigner early in our Republic’s history.
