The 1970 prediction that came out of the newsroom at the Boston Globe was possibly the silliest climate prediction to come out of this period.
It was breathlessly reported in the paper that scientists were predicting a new Ice Age was going to sweep across the globe by the year 2000.
Now that the aforementioned century has arrived some of these same scientists claim that the oceans are going to swallow us whole. So much for another Ice Age.
