Sen. Harris (D-CA) asked her supporters to donate to former Rep. Gabby Giffords’ (D-AZ) gun control PAC, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, and Moms Demand Action. All ostensibly fight for public safety measures to protect the public from gun violence.
The Harris campaign was apoplectic when alleged to have capitalized off of tragedy. Spokesperson Ian Sams fired off with an incendiary Tweet:
This is disgusting. The rightwing disinformation machine is in full Attack Kamala mode. She is fundraising FOR GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION GROUPS.
