Democrats wasted no time criticizing President Trump’s latest decision.
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer called Ratcliffe’s questioning of Mueller “demagogic” and accused him of all but being a partisan hack. Congressional Democrats quickly hopped on the bandwagon, arguing Ratcliffe is dangerously unqualified.
Here are the facts to share with your liberal relatives:
- Ratcliffe served as Chief of Anti-Terrorism and National Security for the Eastern District of Texas.
- Afterward, he served as US attorney.
- During his time on Capitol Hill, Ratcliffe received repeated endorsements from the most-widely circulated paper in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is held in high regard by his colleagues.
But after Ratcliffe’s questioning of Mueller, it seems unlikely more than one or two Senate Democrats will vote to confirm him.
