Randy Shughart was a Delta Force sniper and fell on the battlefield during the Somali Civil War. He was in one of two helicopters that were sent to capture one a warlord’s top lieutenants. The first helicopter was shot down and he requested to be sent to the site so he could help. He and another sniper landed and helped save the pilot who was the only man to survive the crash. The three fought off an incredible amount of enemy combatants, unfortunately, Shughart and the other sniper (Gary Gordon) died in combat. The two were awarded the Medal of Honor for their bravery.
