Jason Dunham was awarded the Medal of Honor while serving in Iraq. He and his fellow Marines were patrolling when they were ordered to intercept enemy vehicles that were fleeing a firefight. They stopped a vehicle and an enemy combatant engaged Dunham in hand to hand combat, after getting wrestled to the ground the combatant dropped a live grenade. Dunham valiantly dove on the grenade to save his fellow Marines. He was put into a coma by the blast and was not able to recover. We remember this hero on Memorial day because he put it all on the line for his country and fellow Marines.
