Manafort was sentenced for the second time in less than a week. Last week, the 69-year-old political operative received 47 months in prison over a scheme to fleece banks and taxpayers out of millions, courtesy of Reagan appointee Judge T.S. Ellis III.
The three years and 11 months Manafort initially received (minus nine months for time served) came to far less than the 19-and-a-half to 24 years Mueller’s team recommended.
Yesterday, Washington, D.C. Judge Amy Berman Jackson added 3.5 years to his prison stay after being found guilty of conspiracy against the United States and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
