Nevada has a tax rate of 8.1 percent and a total population of 2.9 million, with the vast majority in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. Trump narrowly lost this state in 2016 with 45 percent of the vote. It’s possible this loss, and the Republican Party falling short in marquee statewide elections last November, can be attributed to the 200,000 Californians moving to the Silver State.
