Congressional Democrats and some Republicans cobbled together a deal on border security and made many casual observers think that Democrats were ready to compromise. Their proposal made clear that was not the case.
Conservative allies of the president were quick to voice their disapproval for the bipartisan agreement, which mirrored a similar bill passed by Congress last year.
This conference agreement is hardly a serious attempt to secure our border or stop the flow of illegal immigration. It kicks the can down the road yet again, failing to address the critical priorities outlined by Border Patrol Chiefs.
