Pelosi and Trump had a long back and forth about who had the votes to advance their agenda. It was surreal and vintage Pelosi, who was wrong every step of the way.
She told Trump that he had the votes to get everything through Congress if he wanted, too – this also isn’t true.
Trump does not have the required 60 votes in the Senate but does have all he needs in the house, and he is the executive.
At the end of the meeting, she commented that he didn’t have the votes and needed to work with the Democrats, without admitting she just told everyone that she was wrong.
