Several hundred migrants, in a deliberately violent act, attempted to storm the border at America’s busiest border crossing.
The act prompted Customs & Border Protection to fire tear gas to subdue them and Mexican Federales to corral those who looked eager to join the fray. The standoff prompted CBP to shut down all 26 vehicle lanes and 22 pedestrian lanes at the San Ysidro port of entry.
