Intrepid reporters uncovered that Espy cashed in on $750,000 for lobbying for an African despot while as one of D.C.’s movers and shakers.
As Fox News reports, this dictator, in particular, is one bad guy. Laurent Gbagbo, President of Côte d’Ivoire, lost his election in 2010 and proceeded to order mass killings and rapes for his political opponents instead of conceding.
This monster remained in office until his arrest in April 2011.
Currently, Gbagbo is facing trial in an international court for his human rights abuses.
Espy not only lobbied for this murderous madman, but he also lied about his lobbying for him – claiming that he didn’t finish the contract or collect all of the money from the deal.
We now have proof that he did.
