However, it’s easy to imagine how Trump unquestioned ability to draw supporters to the polls could have erased Curbelo’s 4,000 vote deficit to Debbie Mucarsel-Powell.
In the end, Mucarsel-Powell blanketed the South Florida airwaves with ads focused on healthcare, turning out Democrats by appealing to their most important issue, while Curbelo never received the much-heralded Trump bump.
