Massive wildfires threaten large swaths of California every year, partly due to a lack of controlled burns in the state. Controlled burns get rid of underbrush in forests, which helps bushfires from becoming uncontrolled conflagrations.
The State of California frowns on controlled burns because hippies fail to understand the benefit of the smaller fires, and think they are “bad,” too. Unfortunately, this attitude doesn’t appear to be changing.
