Michael Harmon was a supporter of the 2nd Amendment and an outspoken conservative columnist for Maine’s most widely circulated newspaper, the Portland Press Herald. He worked for the paper for more than 40 years and, after his retirement in 2011, continued writing a weekly column. Liberals rejoiced after he died from an accidental firearm discharge, with one unprincipled ideologue writing on Facebook: “Accidental, but not a tragedy. Just more collateral damage. We lost nothing. Never ask me to feel bad for a gun freak getting killed by his own gun.” Another unhinged progressive called the news “uplifting.”
