Peter Roskam is ideologically pretty squishy, getting an F from Conservative Review with a measly 54 percent Liberty Score. The suburban Chicago Congressman was Deputy Whip, so he at least had the chops to get the votes and was mentioned in 2015 when Boehner bowed out. Roskam was a dark horse then and hasn’t improved his position since.
