While the success of his presidency is debatable, John F. Kennedy was never going to win praise by anyone for being a dutiful, loving husband. Jack’s numerous affairs and constant womanizing drove Jackie into prolonged bouts of depression. At one point, he made her get electroshock treatments!
Most famously, Jack and Bobby had numerous flings with Marilyn Monroe before dumping her after she got too clingy. Monroe died shortly after that in a barbiturate overdose. Although conspiracy theories emerged, we can say – at a minimum – their affair with Monroe was extremely damaging to her fragile mental state.
