The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Fox News will soon cut O’Reilly loose, citing sources that are close to the situation.
The decision could come as early as the next few days from the Murdoch family who own News Corp. the parent corporation of Fox News.
This comes on the heels of a NY Times article citing sexual harrassment claims.
Bill O’Reilly’s attorney and his biggest supporters maintain that this is a character assassination led by far-left organizations.
Over the course of the last few years, there have been multiple character assassinations waged on high-profile conservative media stars and rising political stars.
The O’Reilly Factor has appeared on Fox News for 17 consecutive season, bringing the total number of episodes to 5,371. The show has also been the number one rated cable news show for over 60 quarters. His removal from the air would create a big shoes to fill at Fox News with O’Reilly’s larger than life personality.
