Officials are charging an illegal immigrant with sexually assaulting a little girl—in her bedroom.
Edgar Mendoza, 32, is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala.
On Tuesday, Mendoza broke into a house in Trenton, New Jersey, sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl. Mendoza’s plan was, thankfully, foiled when the little girl’s father noticed that a light had been turned off upstairs, and went to investigate.
Upon entering his daughter’s room, the father found Mendoza in her bed.
Mendoza attempted to run, jumping out of a second-floor window and fleeing into the neighborhood. The father called 911, and police soon found and arrested Mendoza nearby.
Mendoza has since been charged with aggravated sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and burglary. He has also been the subject of a detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
