The North Korean government has sentenced President Donald Trump to death for calling Kim Jong-un fat – according to an editorial in its state-run newspaper.

Over the weekend, Trump mocked the North Korean dictator on Twitter, writing: “Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me ‘old,’ when I would NEVER call him ‘short and fat’?”

Apparently, tyrants in North Korea weren’t laughing.

The editorial, published in the state-run newspaper Rodong Sinmun, fumed: “The worst crime for which he can never be pardoned is that he dared [to] malignantly hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership,” apparently referring to the president’s tweet.

The editorial board added: “He should know that he is just a hideous criminal sentenced to death by the Korean people.”

The article also insulted Trump for canceling a visit to the Demilitarized Zone, amid severe weather. North Korea officials called Trump a coward and insinuated he lacked the courage to face their malnourished troops and Soviet-era weapons.

The rambling editorial isn’t the first time Rodong Sinmun has vilified Trump. Articles from earlier this year referred to our president as a “psychopath” and “rabid dog.” When he’s not woofing down his favorite food – cheese – Kim Jong-un has called Trump “mentally deranged” and a “dotard.”

Despite the saber-rattling from North Korea, Trump remains committed to standing firm against the totalitarian North Korean government. In a speech last week in Seoul,  Trump delivered a clear warning to Jong-un, saying, “Do not underestimate us. And do not try us.”
