Former President Barack Obama has gone overseas to bash the United States and the current administration.
Speaking at an invitation-only event in Paris, Obama joked to an audience full of French business and political leaders about President Trump withdrawing the U.S. from the Paris Climate Treaty.
“I grant you that at the moment we have a temporary absence of American leadership on the issue,” Obama said, amid a chorus of laughter from the French elite.
Earlier in the day, Obama also met with French President Emmanuel Macron in a “private capacity.” Obama even confided with Macron’s predecessor, former French President Francois Hollande.
Many Americans heavily criticized Obama during his presidency for “apologizing” for the United States while on overseas trips – and it’s clear that, even being out of office for a year, he hasn’t stopped slamming his country every chance he gets.
