The mainstream media mocked Vice President Mike Pence and his family for looking sad while visiting the ruins of a Nazi concentration camp.
Pence, his wife Karen, and their daughter Charlotte stopped at Dachau concentration camp in Germany – one of the Third Reich’s most brutal – where tens of thousands of prisoners were tortured and killed.
Understandably, it’s not a cheery occasion, but the mainstream media used the Pences sullen facial expressions as a reason to mock them, nearly a year after their visit.
Jeffrey Lewis, a columnist for Foreign Policy magazine, tweeted a picture of the somber Pences, commenting, “They seem fun.”
Ian Bremmer, a columnist and editor for Time, added, “I’ve tried. I can’t actually look this unhappy.”
It’s a sign of the times – and of the mainstream media’s out-of-control Trump hatred – that once respected journalists will actually drudge up year-old photos of the Vice President and his family and ridicule them for being appropriately sad about the Holocaust.
