In politics, passion persuades voters. Ideas are secondary. Despite popular belief, it does not take a majority to initiate sweeping changes. A tiny, impassioned minority can change the world. Initially, less than one-fifth of the population in the 13 colonies actively supported the American Revolution.
Ultimately, the number and effectiveness of activists on both sides determine who’s successful.
That’s why the recent developments in the wake of the Florida school shooting are so alarming. Leftists are keen to use this moment to push for draconian gun control. The left has repeatedly whitewashed the failures of law enforcement to prevent this tragedy and end the bloodshed early on and instead projects their anger at law-abiding gun owners (RELATED: FBI’s Statement on Florida Shooter Will Blow Your Mind and MORE Sheriff Deputies ‘Hid’ During School Shooting).
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, regardless of their beliefs – we’re all children of God.
At the same time, it’s important to stand up for what is right. These companies were quick to sever ties with the NRA and have not provided their five million members with a satisfactory reason why. They simply caved to anti-gun hysteria.
Gun owners everywhere should boycott back. The reality is that the NRA had nothing to do with the Parkland school shooting. However, these companies have given credence to the misperception that somehow the NRA is responsible for the actions of a deranged 19-year-old mass shooter.
Organizations like the NRA not only spread firearm enthusiasm but stress the importance of competency in firearm usage and safety. Most NRA members carry guns to protect themselves and others. They do the opposite of encouraging mass shooters, unlike misguided anti-gun policies or the #BrowardCoward Sheriff Scott Israel (SEE ALSO: Anti-Gun Sheriff Has Long History of Public Corruption).
