Two California high school Spanish teachers and their students were caught on video beating a pinata modeled after President Donald Trump.

The video, which was filmed at Laguna Hills High School several weeks ago, depicted the crowd hitting an effigy of President Trump: complete with yellow hair, a red tie, a photograph of Trump’s face, and a rope around his neck connecting him to a rafter.

The shocking video has now resulted in an investigation from the Saddleback Valley United School District.

But despite claiming they took “immediate action,” the district has been tightlipped about what that action was.

“This activity was not condoned, or approved, by the district, nor Laguna Hills High School,” explained district spokesperson Mark Perez. “Personnel matters are confidential, and therefore, it is our policy to not comment on situations involving employees.”

However, one student took to social media to set the record straight – and complained that the district had overreacted to public employees teaching kids how to beat an effigy of the President of the United States.

“Two of our Spanish teachers were suspended as of today because of a Donald Trump piñata,” wrote a Twitter user named Matt, who claimed the be a student at Laguna Hills High. “We thought it was okay to use one for quince and our teachers did too. Apparently, it was just way too much and ‘disgraceful’ according to the office.”

The teachers’ identities remain a secret.
