Great Mills High School in St. Mary’s County, Maryland is on lockdown after local officials confirmed a school shooting occurred there earlier this morning.
In a tweet, school administrators said the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office had contained the situation. Maryland State Police had responded as well.
There has been a Shooting at Great Mills High School. The school is on lock down the event is contained, the Sheriff’s office is on the scene additional information to follow.

NBC Washington is reporting multiple casualties, but that has yet to be confirmed by authorities.
ATF agents are en route to investigate the crime scene.
