Bret Baier is an independent minded straight newsman like his predecessor, Brit Hume. Baier promised from the beginning of his time at the helm of “Special Report” that he was, “dedicated to keeping the same high standards that Brit set for this show.” Baier credits Hume for being a model, and shines a light on real news, rather than seeking out the next headline. He has reported for twenty years, most of those with FNC.
