NBC executives are considering booting Megyn Kelly’s show to another time slot if her dismal ratings continue.
According to network insiders, another hour of the “Today” show hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb would replace the audience adverse “Megyn Kelly Today.” (New York Post)
“It’s the smart move,” said an insider to Page Six. “At the very least that limits the damage already done to Hoda and Kathie Lee — maybe with a strong lead-in from ‘Today’ at 9 a.m., they’ll even pick up some of the viewers they lost since Megyn went on the air.”
Kelly’s audience has dropped 32 percent since the debut of her show.
Amid an ongoing tiff with then-candidate Donald Trump, Kelly signed an unprecedented $69 million contract with NBC, in a major gamble for the network. It hasn’t paid dividends.
