The mass starvations of the Soviet Union were no joke, but this Marxist Vegan restaurant’s closing sure is! The Garden Diner and Café was a “wonderful” place that paid employees a living wage and did away with the ever so bigoted “traditional management style”. The eatery was complete with a mural of famed revolutionary and notable racist Che Guevara in a chef’s apron.
Now what went wrong with this perfect little commune? It defeated traditionalism correct? Well costumers grew impatient with opening times that were virtually random (Thanks leadership team! Oh wait…) and massive 40-minute wait times for things as simple as sandwiches as Vice’s Munchies reports. It’s a shame that this place had to close just like Stalin’s Bread lines, but don’t worry… it wasn’t real communism.
