In Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s “The Gulag Archipelago”, there was a man who left his life in Canada as a farmer to go to the Soviet Union to support the Communist dream. He brought his tractor and his farming abilities to the commune. Within 5 years he would see all of the things he brought get destroyed by Communists with no skills. He would end up leaving the failed ideas of communism, he left poorer that he went in.
